The dahlia beds are coming together. This weekend we lifted the plastic we’ve been using to kill off the grass and weeds, composted and sowed cover crops (mustard and phacelia). They’ll be allowed to grow until around the end of October when we get my assortment of dahlias in the ground. The 12 or so varieties I had has grown to over 100 tubers, and I’ve also procured another 40 varieties, it should be quite a show.
The tunnel house is full of ranunculus, and the little flowers look like they should be ready to start picking within the next couple of weeks.
I’ve been planting seeds steadily through winter, but today was the first day I started planting more tender spring seeds. I got agrostemma, monarda, godetia and didiscus started.
